What RHEMA has meant to me personally

by Anne-Lise Bregård

My time at RHEMA has given me revelation in God's Word and knowledge about Him. It has expanded my horizons and given me insight and understanding.

My husband, Jan, and I were students at RHEMA USA in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma about 35 years ago. Our two sons have also gone to RHEMA.

Brother Hagin's teaching was so direct and practical that it's not an exaggeration to say our lives were completely changed. I remember specifically one Winter Bible Seminar where Brother Hagin taught on prayer with special emphasis on the prayer of agreement. It seem like he looked directly at us when he said, "A married couple can be in agreement and buy a house." We were actually considering a house purchase, but were not in agreement. Then and there we prayed, got in agreement and went out and bought the house that same day. We were amazed that it went so quickly! The house was a great blessing for our entire family for 10 years.

One change I noticed in me was that I became bolder in prayer when I leaned about my authority. I pray often and use the blood of Jesus. I plead the blood over my friends and family. I pray over my pastors and the churches from Tromsø to Mexico, because I have authority in this area. I pray for the government and the Norwegian Parliament, "help them make right decisions for the people", because I have authority in this area. I plead the blood of Jesus all along the coastline and borders of Norway and say, "Devil, these borders are closed to you! You are forbidden to work her!"

I have also become bolder to use God's Word.  Job 22:28 says, "Thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee."(KJV) And verse 29 in the Norwegian says, "When it goes downward, you shall say upward!"  I decide what I desire, I speak it out, and it is done for me.  I hold fast to this confession. God says in Jer. 23:29, "Is not My word like fire, says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" So I use the Lord's word like a hammer and it breaks down and destroys all sickness and disease and misery and trouble. He has bought me free from every sickness and I am free. I speak it out.  I believe in the God Who calls those things which be not as though they were. He makes the dead to live. He created the world with His words. We are to be like Him. If we had been with Him in the very beginning, we would have said, "Wow! It sure is dark here!" People often say what they see.  But He spoke His creative words, "LIGHT  BE!" and light became.

I had a problem with my house which could have been very expensive.  I practiced what we'd learned at RHEMA. I called those things which be not as though they were.  I decided what result I wanted to have, and it was given me. Long story short, God repaired the problem miraculously and gave me two men who filled out and sent in all the necessary forms and paperwork. They said, "You don't need to do a thing. We're taking care of this."

My husband, Jan, moved to heaven way too early and totally unexpected.  I was in shock and completely overrun with sorrow.   God has been so good . He has helped me with His Word and His presence.  After some time, I realized I had to do what God said in His Word, that I had to rejoice in the Lord, and that was something I had absolutely no desire to do. What do we do when we rejoice in the Lord?  For me, that meant to praise the Lord, to lift up my hands and to dance before Him.  I did this many times. And then, suddenly, during one of those times, there shot a current through me, from my head and down to my feet, and the sorrow was gone!  I have tried to find it, but it's not there.  I still miss him, though.

I'm so thankful to have been exposed to RHEMA and Brother Hagin's teaching.  We have a good heavenly Father who loves us more than words can tell.  Let us stay close to Him, hearing His voice, following His Word, and experience all that He has for us, which is "far above all then we can ask or think." (Eph 3:20)
