The origin of Love is God, for God is love (1 John 4:7-8); His Love for us is unconditional. God is the initiator of Love. God manifested His love toward us, by sending His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him (1 John 4:9). We get to respond to His love by loving God and loving people.
Our Response
We fail to respond in love when we do not fully understand God’s love for us. We are then not quick to forgive others and forgive ourselves. We tend to fall into resentment, the law, and works, instead of living in the grace of God. “Grace” and “Truth” came by Jesus Christ, and we are to live in Him, and through Him.
Jesus and the Father live in us. The Father gave us a gift, the power from on high, His Holy Spirit. Love is one fruit of The Holy Spirit abiding in us (Galatians 5:22). Our response is to obey God, and let His love shine in us and through us. It’s a choice, so let us choose wisely to obediently respond to His Love, in and through our lives.
Our Struggles
In the world today, we see many right things are viewed as wrong, and wrong things accepted as right. Living outside of God’s principles causes heartache and trouble to us, to our families, neighbourhood, city, and nation. When we face challenges and believe lies from the world's system rather than the Word of God, then we open the door to worry, depression, anxiety, and fear. When we doubt the Truth of the Word, we let in fear, and fear deceives us and steals from us. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Everything we need, our Father has provided in His Son! Therefore it is important for us to believe in God, the integrity of His Word, and that His promises will come to pass in our lives.
When God called me to RHEMA Bible Training Center, I didn’t know at first if it was the campus in the USA or in another nation. The Holy Spirit lead me to attend RBTC in Germany. In obedience I left Norway for Germany, not knowing a soul, and not knowing the language, where to stay, or how to make ends meet. It was a choice to believe God or let worry and fright set in. I travelled with just my Bible and a bag of clothes!
The very day I arrived in Bonn, Germany, I visited RHEMA Bible Church. When I walked into the church I was greeted by a lady. At the end of the service, she invited me to stay with her until I found a place of my own. I stayed a week with her and moved into my apartment the day before classes at RBTC began. This is my Father's love to me. His Provision was ready for me even before I knew it. His love watches over us and His provision sees us through. His calling always comes with provision. His provision is an action of His Love!
Love is the driving force behind our faith. Our faith works by love (Galatians 5:6). We all need a greater revelation of God’s faithful, everlasting, and stedfast love for us! Let us trust the Word of God. Believers are privileged to have a relationship with the Heavenly Father, through Jesus. We get to know, believe, and experience the love that the Father has for us. Let us abide in, and walk in love, as we love Him and love our neighbour, obeying the commandments of God (1 John 4).
