Following God's Plan for Your Life

God has a plan for your life. God has set a spiritual race before you. You have a divine calling and a divine destiny to fulfil. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10. You are chosen and called to follow the plan of God for your life and run your race with obedience and patience. You can know the plan, go before the Lord, meditate on His Word, and pray to receive His direction for your life. Being a doer of His Word is His will for you and me. Just as much as obeying any specific leading or call you receive from God. As children of God, expect the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you. (Romans 8:14). Keep a tender conscience. Being in the Word sharpens your spiritual perception and ability to hear God. The Holy Spirit leads believers through the Word, through the inward witness, the still small voice, and the authoritative voice of the Holy Spirit. Every child of God can expect to be led by the Holy Spirit. God planned for you to fulfill His will for your life. He has provided His grace and equipped you for the race ahead of you. The Bible says you are not only to run your race, but you are to finish your race with joy- Acts20:24. It also takes obedience to God and His Word to fulfil His call & will for your life. You need to stay obedient and faithful to God as you prepare. Preparation time - is never wasted time! Prepare and train yourself according to the Word with the leading of The Holy Spirit. Below are 3 additional tips that will help you recognize God’s will for your life and run your race with joy! Grow in the knowledge of God and build character: To follow the plan of God for your life, you will need to grow in the knowledge of God and build character. Learning to apply the knowledge that God is good will also help us to grow emotionally. When you are weak emotionally, you will fall into the traps of the enemy. You will miss the mark and will divert from running your race set before you. Lay aside weights: In the natural, those who run in races wear very light clothing to avoid any weight that will slow them down. Just like that, in the spiritual, you are to strip off any weights that slow you down or hold you back from completing your course. Sin is a weight and a burden that will trip you up. Hebrews 12:1 (Living Bible). It is a decision to lay aside weights and sins like pride, double-mindedness, spiritual slothfulness, and fear which will be an obstacle to finishing your course with joy. God is a just God, and the path he has set before you is not burdensome. Matthew 11:28-30. Follow Peace: Do not make decisions according to your fleshly nature, desires, and inclinations. You will miss the things which God has prepared for you. When you move in a direction in your life and have an uneasiness in your spirit, you need to stop and seek God to find out exactly what He is saying to you. You may need to make course corrections in life as you go on. Follow the peace of God within.
